Join other Bluestem Farm members for a fun evening of food preservation. The exact ingredients we'll be preserving are to be announced, but the afternoon will include an explanation of various types of fermentation. We'll also put on a big pot of borscht, the delicious Eastern European beet soup featuring fermented vegetables, and talk about how to incorporate LF foods into delicious winter meals.
The farm will provide ingredients and send you home armed with information, expertise, and a few jars of beautiful food. This event is open to our CSA members only, please. Free, but donations on behalf of Blue Plate Project are gratefully accepted.
What to bring:
- Notebook + pen
- Water bottle
- Potluck dish + plates + silverware for you
- 3-4 wide-mouth quart jars with lids (narrow-mouth jars are OK too)
- Mixing bowl and measuring spoons
- Something to tie your hair back with
