Blue Plate Project

Our sister non-profit is called Blue Plate Project. Why Blue Plate?  During the Great Depression, a Blue Plate Special was "a low-priced daily diner special: a main course with all the fixins, a daily combo, a square for two bits."

The shared aim of our farm and Blue Plate is to get more good food onto the tables of people in need. To do this, we've partnered with anyone who wants to help. To date, that list includes half a dozen other local businesses, a church, an indie band, the local health department, a community foundation, and a host of too-generous individuals.

Manna Food Project

Over the years, we have worked with local hero Manna Food Project to get good food where it needs to be.

Free Food for Kids, Schools & Families

For many years, we were able to offer totally free food to participating schools and to families with kids through our involvement with the Hoophouses for Health program. The program is no more, but they were beautiful while they were here. If you’d like a model of a seriously effective food outreach program, check out Hoophouses for Health.

If you know of someone who is in need and does not meet any of the criteria above, please let us know and we will see what we can do to help.
